I love DT because it has given me both the opportunity to continue dancing in college, and helped me find my best friends. We all have so much fun together and this team has allowed me to enjoy my time at SHIP even more!

I joined DT my freshman year because I wanted to continue pursing my love for dance while meeting other people on campus. Joining Dance Troupe gave me some of my closest friends and allowed me to grow both as a dancer and choreographer. Being on this team has allowed me to have a group of people I could count on while continuing to dance and I would encourage anyone who loves dance to try out!
DT has been a major highlight of my college career. Not only has being on dance troupe allowed me to continue my love for dance, it has also given me some of my best friends and memories I'll never forget. Being a part of Dance Troupe gave me a support network and a team of people I could always count on. Dance Troupe has been one of my favorite things about my college experience and has definitely made a positive impact on my time at Ship.

I joined DT to continue dancing once I transferred here and to be apart of something greater than myself. Being apart of DT as a transfer students made adjusting to Ship so much easier. I have found lifelong friendships through DT and found my home in a community of girls who value hard work, and family. Others should join DT because you really find your support system in it. You can further your love of dance while also being there for one another and have so much fun along the way.

I joined DT my freshman year of college because I was looking to get more involved on campus. I was so excited that I found DT because it was a way to get involved on campus and meet lifelong friends while continuing my passion for dance. DT has benefitted my dance ability, technique, choreography, leadership skills, and organization as a college student. DT has impacted my college career in so many ways; giving me some of my favorite memories and best friends. Although college can be very stressful, DT is an outlet for me not only because of dancing but because of the supportive group of girls that I know have my back.

I joined DT to be able to continue my love for dance. I have been dancing for 16 years and am not ready to give it up just yet! DT as been an amazing escape for me here at Ship from the stress and commotion of classes and work. Practices are so fun and our team activities are even better! DT truly feels like family.

Dt has had such a positive impact on my life and college career. Coming from out-of-state, I was worried about making friends because I didn't have that common factor of living in PA, but with DT I knew I had found my people. I am so beyond grateful to have met this amazing group of smart, talented, caring, and supportive people. DT has taught me patience, understanding, organization, determination, and confidence. Without this team, including current members and alumni, I would not be half the woman I am today. Each and every person has guided me and taught me so much throughout these three years at ship, and I cannot begin to thank them enough for everything.

When I entered my freshman year at SU, I was actually already recruited to play on another sports team on campus. Despite this, I still felt like I wasn’t reaching my full potential. It wasn’t until my sophomore year when I came across In-Motion Dance Troupe's Facebook page. From there I went to the info meetings and auditioned. Once I made the team, that’s when Ship became home. I met my lifelong friends on DT. We later lived together and they carried on to be my bridesmaids in my wedding! I’ve never met a more supportive group of girls that I was able to share both passion and unbreakable bond with! I know it’s “corny,” but DT was the best thing that happened to me at Ship!

I've been dancing my whole life and knew that I didn't want to stop after graduating from high school. When the time came to choose a college, I made sure to pick one with a dance team. Joining Dance Troupe was one of the best decisions I made because it brought different people and styles of dance together. Without my DT experience, I wouldn't have the lifelong friends that I made on this team. We are a family who rise and fall together and share a bond that can't be experienced elsewhere. I'll always treasure the time spent on this team and I'm excited to watch it grow with the coming generations.

I knew I wanted to continue dancing when I entered college, I just wasn't sure how Ship would allow me to do so. I attend the SIS Fair in 2013, where every club on campus was lined up outside the CUB -- "Pitch Perfect" style. I was incredibly nervous to attend the meetings, audition, open up, go to my first practice, etc, but I am so glad I was able to get out of my comfort zone! You begin to realize the bond is inseparable because everyone is participating in something they love - together. The best memory had been cheering others on from the wings, watching everyone grow and improve as dancers and performing with my best friends. It was hard to leave my seniors, my executive board position, and the team when graduation day approached; truly thrive in every moment of DT - if given the opportunity.

Coming from a very small town about two hours outside Shippensburg, I was sure about one thing; I wanted to continue dancing. I had been dancing since I was four and was in search of something to keep doing what I loved to do. When I had gotten to SU, I found Dance Troupe. If you find DT as a freshman like I did, you have four amazing years awaiting you. DT is a team and a family. Whether you have been dancing for years or only a few, I highly recommend you join this team. While being on this team I grew as a dancer. I learned from the others around me. We all came from different backgrounds and worked together to create routines that were concise and entertaining. I learned the importance of hard work and the pride that you feel after a performance. Besides growing as a dancer and working hard to put together productions, I learned about the importance of family. Spending so much time with this team will give you friends for life. So many memories are created in and out of practices. Being a first year alumni really gives me time to reflect on how important this team was and still is to me. This team has so much to offer you in your time through college and your years after college. Joining DT is one of the best decisions I ever made and am happy that I did. I would recommend joining this team to anyone that has a passion for dance. It is an honor to be a part of a team like Dance Troupe.

When I tried out for Dance Troupe, I contemplated if this was something I really wanted to do. Looking back now, it was the best decision I had made throughout my college career. When I joined DT, I didn't just get to further my dance education, I got to create lifelong friendships that I never even imagined I would have at this point in my life. DT gave me my DT family and my best friend and I am so grateful for that. Not only did I get to enjoy dancing with my closest friends for four years but it also opened many new doors for me. I was able to continue teaching dance at a nearby studio, I gained executive board experience with DT my senior year, and I made many friends through DT's social gatherings. Needless to say, Dance Troupe will forever be apart of me!

I joined Dance Troupe at the end of my freshman year to start off in sophomore year, little did I know I was joining more than just a team. DT is more than just a team and a practice to go to, it's a place of love. It's a family like no other. You cry together, laugh together and make the truest of memories by each others sides. When we say "Once a DT girl, always a DT girl" you take it for granted until you realize, this isn't something I was a part of for just a few years and then left in the dust, it's something that for the rest of my life I will have to fall back on. No amount of time or distance could even come close to fracturing that bond you have with your team.

I joined DT my sophomore year at Ship- until then I struggled to find my place on the diverse campus. Becoming part of the DT family has given me so many great memories of my collage experience and friends that have stayed with me throughout my life. Being a DT girl is so much more than being a dancer, it's surrounding yourself with strong women to inspire and support you. These were some of the best days of my life!

My memories from dance troupe were the best ones I have from my years at Ship. From our get together's, to the formals to the many long hours of practices together, I will always look back on my time on troupe with a smile.
