Executive Board 2023-2024
Because we are a completely student-run organization, Dance Troupe elects an executive board to keep the team running smoothly. While each member of the executive board has duties specific to her/his office, as a whole, the executive board officiates the team.
Ekaterina Hampton - Chairperson
I am a senior biology major concentrating in ecology and environmental conservation with a GIS certificate. I have been dancing for 14 years now training in all styles of dance, but hip-hop is my favorite. I grew up dancing at Oxford Center for Dance in Oxford, PA. I have competed in several competitions and had the opportunity to even be captain of my dance team.
This will be my fourth year on Dance Troupe and third year on the executive board. This is also my second year having the opportunity to be the teams Chairperson and could not imagine having a better group of girls to lead! An injury took me out of dance for 3 years and this group has given me the opportunity to finally dance again. When I came to college, I knew I wanted to try dancing again and I am so glad I did. Some of my greatest friends are on this team and we have shared great memories so far. I can’t wait to lead this team and to see us grow as a group!
Lindsay smith - assistant Chairperson
I’m a sophomore communications/journalism major with a concentration in public relations and a minor in marketing. I have been dancing for 16 years and I have done many different styles including tap, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, acro, and jazz but jazz is probably my favorite.
I have danced at 3 separate studios but my main studio was Hot Styles Dance Company in Bellefonte, PA. I have competed in multiple competitions including Star Quest, 24 seven, and Dancers Inc. This will be my second year on DT and my first year on the executive board. I am so excited to continue to be a part of this team with all of these wonderful girls. I am so grateful that DT has allowed me to continue dancing in college and allowed me to continue doing what I love.
Hayley Taggart - Director
I am a senior psychology major and plan to work with adolescents in the future. I have been dancing for 18 years and have been trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and lyrical, however contemporary is my favorite style. My home studio is Denise Gucwa’s School of Dance, where I was a member of the competition team, team captain, Nutty Staff, and a student teacher.
This is my forth year on DT and my third on the executive board, and I am excited for what the year has in store. I have loved getting to know my team and sharing many laughs on and off the stage! I am thankful that In Motion Dance Troupe has allowed me to continue my love for dance, while also giving me my best friends!
Hayley Marsh- assistant director
I am a sophomore Middle Level Education major with a concentration in English. I have been dancing for 17 years and have trained in ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, contemporary, pointe, and modern. Out of all of the styles I trained in, my favorite is contemporary. I grew up dancing at The Dance Academy in Hanover, PA, where I did all of the above classes and also was a part of the competition team where we competed at several regional and national competitions. I was also a Student Assistant in the younger dance classes where I helped the teacher demonstrate steps and get the class ready for their performance in the end of the year recital.
This will be my second year on Dance Troupe and my first year on the Executive Board. I am so excited to be on E-Board this year and to choreograph some amazing dances for campus events and competitions! I am also excited to make so many amazing memories with all of the girls throughout this year! I can’t wait to see what this year brings for Dance Troupe!
Avery Mawyer - Secretary
Howdy! My name’s Avery, and I’m the Dance Troupe Secretary for the 2023-2024 school year! This fall, I’ll be beginning my junior year as a sustainability major. On campus, I am an active member of Alpha Phi Omega as well as Green League. I have been dancing for about 15 years now, in styles such as tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop! I first learned how to dance at Juli Kell’s Dance Center in my little hometown of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. Some of my earliest memories include being on stage with my sister, performing for my mom and dad. Thanks to DT, I can continue performing my passion on stage for my family.
I am looking forward to my first year on the executive board and my third year on the Troupe. I am super excited for our events such as Homecoming, basketball game performances, and competition! I am so grateful that I get to have this opportunity with all these amazing and talented dancers!!

Kara Cisney - HISTORIAN
I’m a sophomore Early Childhood Education major, excited to take on the role of Dance Troupe's Historian this year! My previous dance background has consisted of dancing at local studios since the age of four till the time I graduated high school. I have taken various genres throughout my dance journey where I have learned I enjoy modern and jazz the most.
My later years as a dancer were spent being a part of my studios competition team. Competing only made my love for dance grow. I started teaching some classes to younger dancers. As I moved on to college I was apprehensive about continuing dance. Eventually, I made one of the best decisions to join DT. Last year was my first year where I served as the Publicity Committee Head. I loved every moment so much I decided to go out for an executive board position this year. I am grateful for the new friends and memories I made so far, and I cant wait to be a part of helping the team grow for the next few years!
